The “Indian Phytopathological Society (IPS)” is a professional forum, promoting the cause of Plant Pathology. It is the third-largest society of plant pathologists in the world. The society was established on February 28, 1947, in the division of Mycology and Plant Pathology, the then Imperial Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi. The Society provides an international platform to advance the modern concept of plant health management in the agricultural, urban, and silvi-pastoral systems. It strives to provide information on the latest developments and research advances in the area of plant health science through its official journal the “Indian Phytopathology” (Springer), and exchange information on plant health with the scientific community, public, policymakers, industries, etc. It provides opportunities for scientific communication, collaboration, and professional development. The society organizes national and international conferences, symposia, and seminars on major topics of Plant Pathology. IPS is one of the largest professional societies with ~2500 members across more than 50 countries. It includes research scientists, teachers, extension professionals, students, technicians, agricultural field representatives, and industry personnel.

The ICAR-Central Citrus Research Institute (Formerly known as National Research Centre for Citrus) was established on 29th July, 1985. It is a premier research institute in India actively involved in basic, strategic and applied research on crop improvement, sustaining productivity, crop protection and utilization of citrus. The institute is also a repository for genetic resources and scientific information on citrus. In addition, ICAR-CCRI also acts as nodal centre for training, quarantine, certification and supply of disease-free planting material of citrus across the country.
